Astrologically around the new moon and solar eclipse of September 21st 2025
10:05 PM
The new moon is on September 21st, next to the sun (at the final degree) in Virgo.
This brings a need for order, connecting details, and overseeing the whole. Try to find a balance between what the outside world expects from you and what your inner world desires, has to offer, and is capable of. Is there balance, or is more self-care needed? If you strive for purity, make sure you don’t do so at your own expense, and remain realistic. Nutrition may require extra attention: feel what is good for you, what gives you energy, what contributes to your well-being.
If there is a literal or figurative allergy, try to explore how it originated, what it is trying to tell you, and what you do or don’t need. How can you give your mind more rest and enjoy more?
The Moon and Sun are opposite Saturn. Themes around holding on and letting go of what is old or done may arise. Finishing up and starting fresh brings relief. The equinox is the perfect time for that! Work toward something, make a step-by-step plan or map out a route – that makes it easier to take the first step. Create order and clarity for yourself. If something suddenly doesn’t work the way it always did, then you know a change is needed. But doing the same thing and expecting a different result doesn’t work!
Take your time (Saturn) to feel (Moon) what is needed and/or desired right now. Maybe you see around you what you do or do not want. Take it in and consciously direct your energy, so you can truly move toward where you want to be. Going too fast won’t work, standing still neither – find the middle path.
During the new moon, there is also a partial solar eclipse. The new moon goes between Earth and the Sun, making it (partially) invisible. A solar eclipse means that your consciousness of your ‘earthly being’ is briefly unclear. What was it you wanted again? Who are you and who do you want to be? It’s a sort of reset of who you are, here and now. Where did you come from, where do you stand, and where do you want to go? In the coming months, this will become increasingly clear, but know that you can always co-steer.
The next day, on September 22nd, when the Sun enters Libra, it is the autumn equinox.
Day and night are roughly the same length, but after the 22nd, the days will get shorter and the nights longer. The darker part of the year calls for introspection, turning inward again, and taking more time for your inner world (as there is less distraction outside). Feel, experience, (re)acknowledge what you need. What do you want more, what do you want less? How do you find your balance and live accordingly? Is there something you still want to pay off or redeem? Make sure any lingering ‘hooks’ that cause overthinking, hold you back or distract you from your desired path, are dealt with. That brings freedom and clarity about what there is to celebrate during the next full moon: the Harvest Moon.
